Adjust Screen Saver

(not available in Lite version)

This operation allows you to set up and configure Zoomer's screen saver. When Zoomer's screen saver is set you can also adjust it from the Desktop control panel window selecting Zoomer screen saver and pressing Settings button there (the same dialog is appearing).

For the Zoomer's screen saver, it is possible to define several sets of images to view, assign different days and times for it and even redirect certain sets to other screen savers in the system. If several screen savers' sets are allowed for current day/time, a set to launch is choosing randomly among such sets, and if several other screen savers are added to a list of launching screen savers, Zoomer also selects one of them to start randomly (when such set is always selected).

When you add a directory to the set, all its subdirectories are added first, recursively. But a directory is added only in case when it contains supported image types (taking into account only file extensions). After that, it is possible to remove undesired subdirectories or rearrange its order (this can be important for Forward and Backward direction of slide show, but has no sense for Random selection though). When slideshow is started, images are not sorted by name or any other category, for better performance, so images are placed in the order in which the system lists the directory. In most cases this means that images will be shown for Forward direction of view in the order in which those were added to the directory.

Also note that Zoomer's screen saver stores the last viewing image index, and the next time the set is selected it is a big chance that the slide show will be continued from this image rather then restarted from the begin of file list.

In the set purposed to view images you can adjust many parameters controlling the screen saver look and behavior. There are two main possibilities there. If the set is aimed to view large enough images, a special combo box allows for you to adjust minimal size of images to view. If you select such restriction, Zoomer will skip smaller images (such as banners, avatars ets.) and view only large enough images stretching it to fit screen. Recommended exposition time for this option is not less then 3 seconds (and if shorter time is selected, Smooth Scaling is turned off to minimize processor loading consumptions).

In another case, when you add a lot of small images (icons, gifs, etc.) to the set, then you can select Resizing small images mode where images are shown as is but in random screen positions. And there is an option there "don't erase until clash", which is very suitable for icon-sized pictures. For this case, it is possible to select very small Exposition time (0.1 sec is minimal though) and anyway this should not load processor a lot.

In any pictures set, all paroled images and resources from executables are never showing. In addition to image size restriction, it is also possible to restrict showing animated images also.

When you configure time when the set can be viewing, it is possible to set Time from greater then Time to. This allows to set viewing time for nightmares, e.g. from 22:00 to 6:30. But the day is checking first anyway, so a set allowing at Saturday and Sunday will never be launched at any other day of week. Take a note than a heading button for disabled set has always red text and for set redirecting to other screen savers has blue text in the caption.
